Creative Director Shares Breakthrough Advertising from Got Milk to Adidas to Pets.com
Co-host Brad Forsythe interviews Chuck McBride, Creative Director for TBWA/Chiat/Day North America. Chuck began his career in advertising as a copywriter in San Diego working with the San Diego Zoo. Chuck soon moved north to Los Angeles where he worked at Team One Advertising to position and establish the Lexus brand creating market share for the product in a very cluttered category. Chuck stayed in the automotive space for quite some time, creating campaigns with Subaru at Wieden & Kennedy/Philadelphia and then Isuzu at Goodby, Silverstien & Partners. After Chuck finished his “ride,” he helped create one of most successful branding movements to date with the launch of the “Got Milk?” campaign. The campaign’s phenomenal success led to a host of other brand opportunities with flagship brands such as Levi’s and Sega at Foote, Cone and Belding, and Nike and Powerbar at Wieden & Kennedy/Portland.
